A tough hole to start. From the back tees, the drive should be accurate and long to reach the plateau, from which the approach to the green is less complicated, despite the presence of a water hazard on the left of green.

Unlike a traditionally easy 1st hole, this one tests you immediately. It is best to have warmed up well!
The hill makes it longer than it seems. The fairway bunker is well placed to the right in the dog-leg.
A birdie or even a par will give you confidence for what follows.
